Joey + I were insanely privileged to be able to go back to our hometown for the weekend to be totally loved on with gifts for our impending baby.

My mother graciously opened up her home for the party, and we had friends who traveled a fair distance just to be there.

I wanted our guy friends [and family] to feel welcome at the party, so we didn't play many silly little baby shower games, instead focusing on food + fellowship. Far better.

We hung out in my parents' very newly renovated [as in, the finishing touches still haven't quite been added yet!] living room + kitchen, with some even straying to the back yard to sit in the sun while they munched.

We were totally spoiled with gifts, including clothing + books + supplies for making baby food + our nursery furniture!

We had a BBQ after the gifts were opened for those who wanted to stick around, and stuffed ourselves with burgers + sausages + the remaining cake.

We had a great day + are so blessed to have such loving and supportive families + friends with whom to celebrate!
